Mystery Man

A Mississippi rhythm and blues singer and songwriter, Jimmie Warren, known as the "Mystery Man" was born in Leland, Mississippi where resides today. The Mystery Man began his musical career training as a songwriter with Mr. David Porter at Stax Records in Memphis, TN just shortly before Stax closed their doors. In 1972, his first release was with a group called "The Optimistics" which included friends such as Harrison Norals, Robert Chatmon, and the late Mr. Bally all of Leland, MS. The songs that he wrote were, "Slave for Your Love" and "Don't Let Them Put A Tiger in Your Tank." In 1985, he released a solo project on World Record Label. The songs that he wrote and sung were, "Sharing Our Love" and "Got Myself A Jealous Lady" which received airtime on local radio stations in the Mississippi Delta.

In 2002, he released another solo project on Wilson Records. The CD "Bedroom Workout" was a moderate success in the South. The title tune received extensive airplay and became a minor hit. It was later covered by Billy Soul Bonds on his "Here Kitty, Kitty" CD. The Mystery Man had two more releases with Wilson Records before moving on.

In 2008, the Mystery Man signed with Ecko Records and released his debut for the label "What's Wrong With Our Love?" in April of 2008.

The Mystery Man has opened for Blues singers such as J Blackfoot, Sir Charles Jones, Marvin Sease, Denise LaSalle, Bobby Ruch, Little Milton, Lee Shot Williams and Charles Wilson, Willie Clayton, David Brinston, O. B. Buchana, T. K. Soul, Wilson Meadow, Theodis Ealy, Benny Lattimore, and Carl Sims. He continues to build his career as a songwriter and singer with an eye on bigger successes in the future.
